I’ve been chasing a pair of Red Shouldered Hawks that live down by the pond at work for a couple of months now trying to get some decent shots. Today as I was getting in my truck I noticed one of them in the tree by the pond. One had a rabbit and was perched on top of the light post in the parking lot and the other joined him. As I was changing my focus one of them swooped down and dive bombed me. I literally had to duck to my knees to keep from getting clocked. I just wish I’d have had my focus ready when s/he was swooping straight for me! It was quite exciting!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day that Jason and I spent most of the afternoon on the screened porch with the pups. I got all the boys’ photos. Lois Lane wouldn’t sit still (go figure).

Here’s the promo for the contest:

Doggie Bag or Kitty Bag Give-Away contest has started! See how many Paw Points you can earn between now and April 6 and get your choice of a Doggie Bag or Kitty Bag for your pet! Visit the Pet Research site for full details.

I also screwed up and totally forgot to take a photo yesterday for the project. So I’ll be taking two today to make up for it. Cheating a bit, I know, but I want to continue on.

I saw this car in the parking lot at Baptist East today when I went to get my bloodwork done and couldn’t believe my eyes. I was very excited when the guy parked two spots away from me so I could get some photos. If you look close at the top frame you can see all the fish and other characters adorning the roof! Guess that’s one way to be unique!

Only modern technology would allow us to be able to work from anywhere securely…even during our off hours! This is a macro of the key FOB that was issued by work to keep me able to work outside of the office, while still being able to access all systems and my own work PC. (The numbers change every 60 seconds.) I hate being “on call” 24/7, though it is handy to be able to work from home rather than having to drive in to the office in the middle of the night or stay late to do necessary off-hours work. And luckily it doesn’t happen often. I spent 2 hours working from home tonight to implement some change that had to be done off hours, thus deemed this appropriate!

We had a “team building” outing today at work for the eBusiness team and we got to leave work at 2:30 and spend a couple of hours at the bowling alley. It was fun for a change, especially for a Tuesday. I bowled a 96 and a 102. Not great, but not bad considering it’s only the fourth time I’ve been bowling this year and haven’t been before that in forever. One of these days I’ll get the hang of it again!

I’m hoping to get back into my regular photo scavenger hunt this coming month to help provide more interesting shots for my one a day project - we’ll see what happens!

In other news:

I found out a couple of weeks ago that I have gall stones. In fact, one third of my gall bladder is full of stones. So I had a consultation with a general surgeon this morning and the gall bladder is coming out. On March 11 I can say good riddance to that worthless organ and resume my beer and wing eating habit. Until then I have to watch the fat intake else I end up writhing around in misery, so it’s a good thing to have yanked out. Odd to think that up until 6 months ago I’d never been in the hospital for anything and now I’m going in for my second organ removal. I hope this isn’t some new trend because I’m not digging it.

And - it’s Friday! Going to hang with friends tonight, seeing Shutter Island tomorrow afternoon and hanging with friends again tomorrow night. Gonna be a great, relaxing weekend!

I don’t do a lot of portrait photography - it just isn’t my thing. But every once in a while it’s nice to have some people photos. Particularly family people photos. Even more particularly, family people photos who you don’t have many photos of. No, he does not like his photo taken. I told him I wanted him to be my project photo tonight. In his typical fashion he said “You have one shot”, while standing in the kitchen with the refrigerator door partially open. Anyone that knows him can hear that tone in his voice, along with the raised eyebrows that say “I’m serious”. This is my one shot.

Not only is this my one shot - this is my everything. I live for this man. He is my best friend, my confidant, my animal rescue partner…my everything. I never dreamed I would meet someone I could connect with on every level…but yet here he is, married to me…me! For almost 16 years now we’ve been together. We’ve been through a lot and we’ve had a lot of good times. And it’s only the beginning. I love you, babe!
