We kicked off the first Pet Research Give-Away contest today and I took photos of the Doggie and Kitty Grab Bags that are the prizes to choose from for the winner. Finally used my studio light kit again for the first time in ages. If you’re a pet lover and interested in the contest, come visit us.
Here’s the promo for the contest:
Doggie Bag or Kitty Bag Give-Away contest has started! See how many Paw Points you can earn between now and April 6 and get your choice of a Doggie Bag or Kitty Bag for your pet! Visit the Pet Research site for full details.

I also screwed up and totally forgot to take a photo yesterday for the project. So I’ll be taking two today to make up for it. Cheating a bit, I know, but I want to continue on.

www.petresearch.net is a pet resource site that Jason and I started up about a year ago. It’s come a long way in that year and started out as just a pet project (no pun intended) and has grown to be a valuable resource. We have spent the last several weeks revamping the site and adding in user pet blogging capabilities, a discussion forum and other hands on features, with more to come in future releases. If you’re a fellow animal lover, come check us out!
A screenshot of the site would have been a cleaner image, but that would be cheating for Project365, now, wouldn’t it?

My first photo scavenger hunt is completed and I came in 5th place out of 11 participants. Not bad for my first attempt! The next one starts soon so I’m hoping to do better. I didn’t find 4 of the items on the list, which cost me 20 points, so my goal for May’s hunt is to get all items for that extra bonus! You can see all the items I managed to find for April’s hunt here.
Not much else going on. Mother’s Day is tomorrow so we’ll be making the rounds to visit moms. I made gifts for my mom, mom-in-law, grandma and mama this year. But since some of them read my blog I can’t say what it is just yet. But I’ll likely be posting photos in the coming days as it’s a first attempt at this type of project.
I’ve been working a lot with some of our “pet projects” this week. One of them is our PetResearch.net blog, which we just set up discussion forums for. If anyone has pet related issues to discuss, check it out! It’s a wealth of information already and growing steadily.
Another site we’ve started noodling around with is our Garden and Home site. It’s basically the same idea as the pet research site, but for information about craft projects, gardening tips, recipes, etc. We just got the first post up yesterday (a small how-to on hand made Mother’s Day cards) so it’s a newbie site and still pretty small. We have faith that it will grow nicely though.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you hot momma’s out there. Hope you have a wonderful day!

If you are reading this, and if you are a regular blog reader here, then you have already noticed the change in site theme. I tend to change my themes often, but I wanted a theme that I could better personalize with my own photography, but still have a clean feel to it and have an additional column to work with. So voila! All the header images are made up of my own personal photos and randomly rotate on refresh. They are mostly my wildlife and pet shots, as those are my favorite subjects. More will be added as new favorite shots are acquired. It’s actually the same theme I use for my PetResearch blog, but configured a bit differently. I have a few other changes to make, but this is the bulk of it. Enjoy!

Welcome to my new blog home!
After pondering for several months on what to do with my personal site, I finally decided to combine my site and blog into one place/domain. The best way I found to do this was to set up a Wordpress blog/site (sorry Blogger!) and keep everything in one place. I will be adding more to the site, but for now I have everything that I had at Blogger moved over.
Anyone that has me in their Blogroll or link lists, please update your links to point to my new forever home at http://christy.mesker.us.

I was finally able to complete and launch the new and improved B.Dog Development site for my web design/development company (aka job #2). The original site was one that was sort of thrown together quickly and sort of swept under the rug and ignored. Like the old saying goes…”the shoemaker’s kids go without shoes”.
Check it out, tell all your friends…
